A lot of what I would have said in this post has already been shared so beautifully right here. And if you’re already a reader of Tara’s blog, you’d know that she’s one of the most down to Earth, warm, humble people roaming this planet, along with hilarious too. Someone who makes a beautiful difference. Oh, and something else…She’s not just a little bit clever on one side of a camera, she’s incredibly gorgeous on the other side too.

Of course gorgeous bebe Charlotte arrived in all her finery but here, I think she looks the most beautiful. Could there be anything sweeter than baby skin? I think not.

Remember.

Drive to Santa Monica and stop at Rachel Ashwell then near faint with delight and ponder whether one can trade one’s soul for a petticoat light shade.
Visit cute organic cafe for lunch and feel so much better for eating something grown in a garden and do well at avoiding the chocolate heart cake then try to find salt water taffy instead.
Buy yellow Converse for Mikey and a pink bunny for Ivy and silver crown china for you and swoon over that sweet little pillow for me.
Oh, and see what can be done with one vintage frock, thirty minutes of light, bare feet and a pretty, pretty street.

Rachel and Andy {Montage Resort}

On theeee most perfect Laguna Beach afternoon, we met Rachel and Andy at the Montage. That sentence alone makes my heart a flutter, just the memory of the incredible light, the stunning surroundings and most of all, the connection between these two beautiful people. A fun, natural, genuine connection that is inspiring to watch and the kind of shoot that makes you feel guilty to call it “work”. The fact that Krysta and I stayed long after the session finished, sampling good wine and watching the sun go down probably didn’t hurt a whole lot either :)

So, so many more images to share over the next week or two, stay tuned.

The California Sessions

Because, every single day when I drive this road late, I swoon at the light.
It’s what made me pick up my phone and snap as I traveled home.
Mason asked “what’s Mum taking pictures of?”
and Luca replied “the sun”.
I love that he knows.
I’m not capturing trees or houses or people.
It’s that late, hazy glow.
The golden wash and the sweeping shadows.
That last hour of light.
It transports me.
Calmed.
Inspired.
Without doubt or worry or wishing.
Lost in the moment.
Me.
