days in melbourne.
this weekend.
we went to melbourne and checked into a hotel with pink toiletries and ordered room service from an alice in wonderland themed menu. we swooned at the latelight and met with new friends and until the early hours we talked and laughed and our hearts grew happy.
we slept and woke and shopped and drank coffee and didn’t rush and bought pretty paper and expensive lipgloss. we traveled the tram to st kilda and ate good vegetarian with good friends and sang happy birthday after midnight.
we dreamed and we woke and we paused over breakfast. we tried vintage frocks and we met with old friends and we shopped and we snapped and we shopped a lot more. day became night and we told tales and drank champagne and laughed until four.
rachel and peta and angie and tuesday and ali and lea. thankyou.

I was in St Kilda this weekend, though only travelled from Richmond, 2 tram trips away. We may have crossed paths! Hope you had a lovely time… sounds like lots of fun catching up with friends who bring joy into your life.
I love your blog, I do drop by and visit often, see your lovely family photos and read your tender stories. Thought I’d just say hi!

Your vegetarian cuisine didn’t happen to be from Soul Mamas did it? I love St.Kilda, in fact I once did a whole post on just how much I love it.

How hilarious! It’s funny to hear people catching public transport in on a getaway. We were in Bangkok last week and thought it was fabulous using their MRT rail system but cringe having to catch trams around our own Melbourne. A few weeks ago we parked at Crown and had to go to Longrain so caught a taxi instead of a tram. I think it could be because we’re such veggies when it comes to getting a ticket!!

It Sounds like a perfect time! I love to go places with my girlfriends and act like a kid again. It makes me a better wife, mother, sister and friend.

I live in Melbourne & I love Melbourne. I love all the little arcades & laneways w/ hidden treasures & cool little cafes that sit no more than 10 patrons at a time. I love the trams (yes you read right!). I love ‘Medley Hall’ (a wonderful little gothic mansion in the heart of Carlton. Incidentally used for many photographic ops & location for a couple of flicks). I love four seasons in one day. I love the Sea Baths in St.Kilda. I love The Old Sun Theatre in Yarraville. I love Madame Brussels in Bourke Street/City. I love the artistic mecca that is ‘The Nicholas Building’ in Flinders Lane. I love the live bands & cool vibes of ‘The Toff in Town’. I have visited many places around the globe, but I’ll always be a Melb’s gal at heart. I’m so happy this city showed you & your posse a great time….come back real soon y’hear!! x
