Ava’s Tea Party 2009

There have been many occasions since Feb 07 where I have been lost for words. This is one of them.  Have you seen all the photos?  The tea parties?   My goodness!  How can I convey what it means to see so many beautiful little people with their Mums and Dads and friends and family all making new precious memories over the sharing of tiny cakes and strawberry milk and raspberry tea..Just being together is enough for me but so many of you actually honored Ava at the same time.  Wow.

From beautiful little tea parties in lounge rooms, back gardens and local parks to cupcakes shared beside soccer games, families pulling up on the side of the road, sweet girls dressed in pink mid-forest.. The gorgeous photos I’ve only just begun to look through and each time I am left searching for the right words to express what it all means to us.

And not only the tea parties.. For the beautiful emails I received, the hundreds of messages sent via comments, FB, Flickr and ye olde letter post..  The most beautiful outfit for Ivy to wear at our own tea party.. A vintage dress for me.  Handmade cuff links for Crayton.  Balloons sent Heaven-bound.  A treasured photo of the pinkest sky.. Beautiful flowers in baby pink, with dragonflies, in spotty teacups..  Special drawings from budding artists.  A precious, tiny felt angel who made her way from the other side of the World.

I really don’t know what to say except, thank you.  For keeping Ava’s memory burning bright.   Truly, thank you.

Love Sheye xx

ps: If you do have photos..even those that have already sent links to me,  I would be SO grateful if you could add them to Facebook and tag them for me..  (Of course I will add you as a friend if I haven’t already).  Thank you!!  I’m sorry I don’t have more photos of our own Ava’s Tea Party to share but I only took a few.   S x

so beautiful Shae…i’ve sent a facebook friend request because I’d love to see the photos everyone sends you of their t-parties what an inspiring idea to remember a beautiful little girl. I think I’ll do something similar to remember my sam, maybe a picnic in the paddock, I have been at a loss as to thinking of how to remember his birthday and my little five year old was asking me the other day what we should do, so thank you for helping me think of something to help my family remember sam on his day.

Your party looked near perfect. Except for missing Ava. Which is how every day goes when you’ve loved and lost a child. I send love, prayers, sympathies and thanks, as well, for your ongoing inspiration through your hurting. It’s what makes Ava’s life of importance even in her absence.
I didn’t take photos, but did enjoy a lemonade and Nilla wafers tea party using our pink Barbie mini Tupperware set. Not quite a super-princess affair, but my girls enjoyed every moment of it none-the-less. And that is the life lesson Ava has inspired to me. Abandon perfection and live in the moment. They are precious.
Love to you, Sheye and family. Just think of the party she must have had in Heaven.
Someday you’ll know how Heaven’s parties look. And it will be beyond perfection. xoxo

Beautiful – it was my husbands birthday too – we had a pink cake (that’s what he gets for having 2 girls!)and we took a moment with our girls to sing a happy birthday to all the little princesses all over the world who share that special day…

Oh my Sheye that dress on Ivy is just devine and what a beautiful gift. Plus you don’t need to excuse why you didn’t take many photos you were celebrating Ava! I have taken some photos that are on my blog (I do not have an dslr or anything though so they are not stunning like some of your followers, but the important part was the celebration). I am not a member of facebook (I am already a follower of too many things lol) but hubby is so if I can get my stuff together I will happily post a couple of piccys, thank you for making us feel like part of your blogger family!

Also a big thank you for your kind invitation in allowing us to celebrate your beauiful daughters birth day, I know Ava would be smiling from ear to ear with the thoughtful and touching celebration and tradition you and your family have started. You never know this could be the tea party that changes the world with all the love that it is starting to spread and wouldn’t that be an amazing thing!

Had an Ava inspired tea party this afternoon. Very informal, but our first ever with pink cupcakes and strawberry milk and grandma’s china brought up from the basement. Just little Emily, Chuck, and I in the living room on a rainy afternoon. I was greatful for the whole thing. I thought of Ava and your family and of all of the little tea parties going on all over for the past few days. Ava’s tea party ‘09 looked wonderful!
