Ivy and the cycle-bikle.
We found a bike at the antique market. Nanny, Ivy and I. Just like mine as a child. The shopkeeper thought he was selling me an old bike but I was also buying forty four dollars worth of long forgotten memories. Ivy, full of glee, rode it out the store and down the street and has barely gotten off it since. It squeaks and topples frequently, has a distinctive wobble and she absolutely loves this thing she calls “cycle-bikle”.

sheye… I MUST! to learn how to capture that beautiful lighting/sun flare…. any word on the EVOLVE course? I absolutely adore these shots!! and that dress…. Also, a question for you…. If I “clarify”, should I also sharpen for printing, or is that enough? Love, love, loving my new actions… thank you for your willingness to share them. happy day, tracy

Sheye, these are absolutely gorgeous!!! Your daughter is sooo freakin’ cute and you are in trouble when she gets a little older :)

Nothing quite so exciting as that first spin of the “cycle-bikle”. I’m wandering down memory lane myself, now. Thinking of my little brightly colored trike. Streamers on the ends of the handle bars. Big shiny chrome fenders. Love at first cycle, it was.

Darling, darling photos..as usual :)

She is growing more and more beautiful each and every day – I remember my own 3 wheeker bike circa 1975 – metallic purple with a wooden back seat for my unwilling cat to cruise around in – and a BIG front wheel, not Penny-Farthing big…but big nonetheless.
Beautiful images that aren’t photos anymore – they are fine art xxx

Oh my goodness. She’s WAY too cute and is SO beautyfull just like her sister. I want to be that kind of photographer when I grow up…unique and artsy, not the boring point-and-shoot like that we have here in America. Anyways, I love her swimsuit in the post before too!
-
BTW, I’m completely kidding about there being no good photographers in America. Just clearing the air.
-
Oh my goodness, perfection!! I love those pictures {as always}. Love, love, love.

I wish I’d looked at your blog before checking out your Flickr last night. These are amazing either way, but there is something so much more magical about them when they’re larger.

I’ve come across your blog a few times now, and am so inspired by your beautiful images and heartfelt posts. My heart breaks every time I read about the loss of your daughter. Just wanted you to know how your story touches so many…
-
it’s the element of danger, the threat of imminent topple that makes it all so exciting
-
Adorable! You are a MASTER of the flare. Your photos always awe me and usually move me! I’ve been admiring your blog and had you listed on my blog’s sidebar under “Websites I Love” for months, but have never commented before. Today, I just couldn’t NOT tell you what you’ve already heard a million times. You are an amazing talent with a camera. Your writing is wonderfully real and affecting. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Ava. Though I never had the privilege of knowing her in life, I remember her often, and when I do, it makes me hug my kids a little tighter for an extra moment or two. Thank you.

LOL, I want a dinky like that for Judd too cept it needs a tray on the back like mine had.

Haha, her cycle-bikle looks so awsome! Funny, but I noticed her face expression in photo no. 1… It totally looks like she is singing (backing vokals) in the song that is playing in the background! *lol*

Ahh the memories of the ‘cycle-bikle’…& the skateboard (wooden of course)….& the rollerskates (you know, the white boot/black sole ones)…..it’s nice that Ivy can share part of your own childhood w/ you. The age of innocence. Let’s savour it. Btw love the shots (sunflare queen!) & Ivy’s dress is super cutsie x
