The Chronicles of Ivy.
It seems I can’t post about anything other than my beloved daughter lately. I think it’s possibly because I can’t see anything other than my beloved daughter lately. Just like Ava at this age, Ivy is glued to my side. So, as expected, I do have more photos of my sweet little attachment further on but before that, a rundown on the day that was..
Today began as a tired day.
Ivy woke at 2.30am. She was back asleep by 3. Me, not so lucky. The sun had well and truly risen when I returned to the land of sleep. In between the meeting with the toddler and the sunrise, I workshopped and shop-shopped online. It passed the early hours quite well but did not make for the most energetic start to Saturday.
Then today became a busy day.
I sorted, I organised, I emailed. I planned and I diarised and I was oh-so-capable and all this whilst managing three spirited children. I was a multi-tasking vision of organised lovliness.
Then, well, today became a little bit challenging kind of day.
The spirited children turned into downright evil children, the sleep deprivation got a hold of me and Mason tried his very best to empty out my brand spanking new $30 hair product. Dinner was handed to us over a counter. Children were sent to bed early. Mothers threatened to leave and never, ever come back. And these were the better bits of the evening.
So, remind me. We sign up for this mothering gig because???…
Anyway, back to smoke and mirrors. Here’s something I prepared a little earlier.
Ivy got here first birthday party invitation via her first letter in the post from Ms Cassy-Dee. It was very exciting.
Kate’s gorgeous invitation included a slideshow of Cassidy that originally I thought was so cute. Now that I’ve seen it about three hundred and twenty seven bajillion times, I’m growing a little weary. Still, thanks Kate, it really was sweet the first thirty times around.

Oooo. Party “imbitations” as my Abby calls them. So exciting. Of course you must look at them over and over and over.
That cliche about parenting being the hardest job ever… so true!
If you’ve got to have someone glued to you…. you couldn’t have picked a cuter one to get stuck to.
Oh how happy does she look in that last photo.
She is a little doll and I still have the urge to wrap her up and take her home with me.
How very exciting – a party.
As for motherhood my boys were sent to bed very early after crying and winging all day long. They were told we aint gonna get along well like this for 2 weeks of school holidays so there had better be an improvement tomorrow.
I’m hoping it was just because of the late night out at a friends house last night that left them like this today.
If it wasn’t I’m doomed!!!! (4 wrestling boys, what have I done to myself……….)
Take care Sheye and have a fab weekend with your gorgeous girl. (and the boys of course)
he he he… too cute. Do you want my two year old? We just got back from Scotland and let me just say this now – My name is Fran Mackenzie and hand on my heart I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (EVER) fly long haul with a toddler again… Her name is Poppy Cate and runway melt downs are her specialty…
BTW – I know how you feel, after our trip if I EVER have to watch Shrek again I think I will explode!
Looking forward to catching up soon xoxo
Oh boy, motherhood… Some days you are positive it is the best decision you have ever made and other days, while you still know it was the right decision, you wish you could send them packing never to return… I sure feel for ya, sister! hahaha
I love the photos. They really capture the light and give your adorable daughter an ethereal quality. Beautiful!

ps… don’t forget you need to drive “eye-bee”… as she isn’t quite old enough to drive just yet, tee-hee:b
Smoke & mirrors… I love that. I am currently covered in sweat after trying to gain some sense of cleanliness & order in my home… Nora just decided to use liquid hand soap as moisturizer. I could use a little smoke, and about 100 mirrors.
much love.

Ohhh my goodness, the $30 hair product…too funny (cause it wasn’t mine)! I too have had many days like this…too many. Then they FINALLY fall asleep and you can’t help but forgive their sweet little faces. That’s when I feel guilty about having screamed 2000 times through out the day. You’re such a REAL mom Sheye…I love it!
BTW…the first image of Ivy is 2DIE4!
A Party invite in the post, how sweet. She looks so excited.
I think a temporary trade-in scheme is what all mummies need for those days with endless amounts of squabbling, whining and general hooha….just temproary ofcourse.

Hey Sheye just wanted to let u know that most times I when I load your page a lot of the pictures only load like a 1/4 of the image, and if I refresh a few times they will load properly.. don’t know what that is? maybe it’s just me??
