Tea at Keggy’s.

If you’re reeeeally Australian, you don’t call it dinner, it’s tea. And if you’re a friend of my Dad’s, you’d call him Keggy.  We went around to Mum and Dad’s for dinner on Fathers Day last weekend and as always, they put on the most sensational bbq.

As we left home the light was amazing so I grabbed the camera but by the time we arrived, so had nightfall so pardon the grainy, sans-flash images.

Keggy and Ivy-Ivy, as he calls her.

My little artist.

Shiny new shoes.

Mason getting some Nanny love.

Miss Two and Charming herself.

Happiness is Oz shaped.

Remember Indigo?  As if there wasn’t enough to love about this family, Momma then pulls out a Dorothy costume. Heaven in a shoot!

Kate mentioned today that the new blog takes a long time to load..Is anyone else having this issue?  If so, can you please leave me a comment.  I’ve changed to displaying five posts at a time instead of ten so hopefully that helps!

Fair season.

It’s that time of year.  They’re everywhere.  Except when I was a child we called them fetes.  For some reason, mine call it a fair.  I tried instilling fete but Mason kept calling it fake.  So, to the fair we went.    A great day.  Not too hot, not too crazy.  To see the boys run off with friends, yelling back over their shoulders “see you later Mum” was really nice.  To not stress, to let them be kids, to see how far we’ve all come.   Lovely day.

It’s nice to post some pics of the boys!

We’d only been there five minutes when the demands for fairy floss started.  Luca didn’t look back but as you can see, Mason did his best to appear to enjoy it whilst his expression told a different tale.

Luca, waiting for the sickly ride thing.

And on the sickly ride thing.

About to get off, looking..sickly.

We were happy:  we had coffee.

Thankyou SO much for all the birthday wishes – I felt so special!  I have a million photos to share, will try to get some more up in the next few days.

The Explore workshop is well under way – it’s been a hugely busy week but we’ve all had fun and learnt so much already..thankyou to everyone for the lovely feedback and support, as always.

Special days.

Lots of years ago, on this day, I came to be.   It’s my birthday.   I’m a big believer in celebrating birthdays – just ask my mother.  Come September Five,  If we had anything less than a marching band, I was not a happy girl.

I like that today is special..I like that so many people have sent lovely wishes and I like that the kids gave me sweet, inexpensive presents.  More than anything though, the best thing that happened today?  I put Ivy in a tutu.    With beating heart, I pulled this mass of fuschia and tulle and sequins over her sweet, grateful, excited little face and held my breath.   This  thing,  this very hard thing, the giving of a tutu to my other beautiful, adored daughter, has been a long time coming.  I wasn’t sure I ever could.  But today, when I woke,  it felt okay.

And when I watched her dance out the door and into the garden,  it felt good.  Actually,  it felt just wonderful.

Happy Birthday To Me.

September {How I love}

My favourite month, and not just because it’s my birthmonth!  What’s not to love about September? The weather is glorious!

I mentioned last year that the weather warming brings mixed feelings – I’m a Summer person through and through but I struggle when I imagine those few baking hots days I know we’ll be faced with..all the “if only’s” start popping up..A different day, a different time of day, a different Season, a different anything, and Ava might still be here.  It’s very hard to shake off all the associations that pop up too frequently.  So, while I’m thrilled that Winter seems to be fading away, I’d like it to remain a beautiful September indefinately please.

And to mark my favourite month’s arrival, Ivish and I spent some time in the garden ladybug hunting yesterday.
