Fair season.

It’s that time of year.  They’re everywhere.  Except when I was a child we called them fetes.  For some reason, mine call it a fair.  I tried instilling fete but Mason kept calling it fake.  So, to the fair we went.    A great day.  Not too hot, not too crazy.  To see the boys run off with friends, yelling back over their shoulders “see you later Mum” was really nice.  To not stress, to let them be kids, to see how far we’ve all come.   Lovely day.

It’s nice to post some pics of the boys!

We’d only been there five minutes when the demands for fairy floss started.  Luca didn’t look back but as you can see, Mason did his best to appear to enjoy it whilst his expression told a different tale.

Luca, waiting for the sickly ride thing.

And on the sickly ride thing.

About to get off, looking..sickly.

We were happy:  we had coffee.

Thankyou SO much for all the birthday wishes – I felt so special!  I have a million photos to share, will try to get some more up in the next few days.

The Explore workshop is well under way – it’s been a hugely busy week but we’ve all had fun and learnt so much already..thankyou to everyone for the lovely feedback and support, as always.

Sheye xx

Beautiful pictures of the boys. It’s so hard to imagine children growing up… but they do. speaking of boys mine just ran in here tore his diaper of and yelled proudly “I’m the man!!!” hehe.. he just turned two… next thing I know he’ll be going the other direction saying see you later mom! Glad you had such a wonderful time.

Sheye – would you mind emailing me the links to workshop and forum to denise.armbruster@lakotaonline.com. My computer has died temporarily (I hope) and I have your email in Outlook and I don’t know how or if I can access any other way. I did google authpro but that pan out which I didn’t think it would but I always try. It’s funny you post these pictures today. We were at a place in our city called Coney Island and I took very similar pictures, rides, anticipating getting on the ride and eating all the good stuff they offer. We call fairy floss “cotton candy” As soon as I can get on the forum again and my computer recovers which I pray it does because I haven’t backed up lately – not too smart on my part :(, maybe I’ll post a couple of them. Thanks Sheye, Denise.

I feel a bit like a blog stalker…promise I’m NOT. I found your blog through a blog through another blog (ok, maybe I am a stalker, ha)

Anyway, just wanted to say you have such a WONDERFUL way of writing, you just drew me in and I can’t help but read your wonderful posts and view your beautiful photos.

I popped a link to your blog on my own, so I don’t have to hunt you down again, hope that’s alright?! If not, I can take it off.

    Cheers from Texas!

Mmmm. Fairy Floss. Which sounds and tastes good for a few seconds… then the nauseatingly sweet overwhelms. Luca ate that and THEN got on the ride? Yuck. I feel sick thinking about it.

  7. these are so lovely sheye.

I always look forward to your posts and pictures. I live in Florida and have posted Ava’s
story in our building. Unfortunately in Florida this tragedy happens often.
You have a beautiful family and I love the way you describe things. So different!
You are a breath of fresh air everyday! Take care, Sharon

  11. I love that you call ‘cotton candy’(well at least that is what we call it in the US), ‘Fairy Floss’, what a terrific and fun name for it. From now on I am going to tell my children that it is fairy floss!! Beautiful pictures, as usual, what an amazing gift you have:)

I love that you call it “fairy floss”… we call it candy floss, but fairy floss sounds much more magical, and far less sticky & gross…

  20. It’s great to see the boys are back (on your blog I mean)! I hadn’t heard about fairy floss before. I know the word cotton candy, but in Dutch it’s actually called “suikerspin”: ‘suiker’ means sugar and ‘spin’ means spider, but I prefer fairy floss to “sugarspider” anytime!

    Love,
    Tania
