Reasons To Be Thankful

1. Because today I moved into my new office. I’m a little nervous about this new approach, not having my beloved Mac at my fingertips any hour of the day or night but it will be a wonderful thing to have uninterrupted work time and home time. I’m going to be a proper working woman by day and a domestic goddess by night. Imagine!

2. Because I managed to do some real excercise for the third time this week today. Anyone who knows me knows that’s a mighty achievement. I hate sweating. My husband nicknamed me “the leisure model” many moons ago.

3. Because Sarah Jane‘s totally gorgeous illustrations arrived today. I bought these two for Ivy’s room when it’s renovated..It makes me think of what I know both my girls would do if they could play together.

and this one purely because it reminded me of this.

4. Because I had so many beautiful messages from beautiful people over Mothers Day and they really did make a difference. From the bottom of my heart, thankyou.

5. Because today I put Ivy’s hair in pigtails she looked older and I loved that she reminded me a little of Ava and we ran around the garden and we laughed and played with the guinea pigs. She makes me feel lucky and she makes me feel grateful.

These are my little bits of Beauty Full for today.

    Sheye,
I am so grateful for your little bits of Beauty full.
I also wish that I could take one of your painful days away.
If every person who you and Ava have touched (and whose lives you have enriched) could each take one of your painful days ourselves – we could take your pain away.
Wouldn’t that be a miracle. And I know we would do it in a heartbeat if we could.
    So much love,
    Kym x

  2. The Silly Wagon says:

I totally agree with Kym and would actually have to arm wrestle her out of my way to get first in line…oh lord Sheye, can you just see the mass chaos and bickering between all of us….you and Crayton and the kids would sit there holding your stomachs from the laughter! I can’t even remember now what I was going to say here….
    xoxo

Shoot, now I remembered! I too am very very seriously considering going down to the studio attached to the house and setting up shop. I beat myself up for wanting to be with the fam and yet can’t tear myself away from the “shop” most of the time. I’ve decided along with my own exercise and weight loss ambitions I want to make sure that my FAMILY as a whole is healthy. And if some of you are wondering where this is going…thanks to Sheye, I have reevaluated my life, my choices and my love for my family and decided to make positive pro active moves to do as much as I can “better” for them and for me. Thank you so much for your strength and a woman and a mother Sheye. My heart overflows with love and gratitude.

  8. Sarah Jane says:

Sheye, I am so touched to hear the story about the flowers. I will always look at that picture and think about Ava. It really does remind me of her…most pics of Ava reveal and active girl with her hair windblown from play yet still as feminine as she can be. Thanks for Sharing…each mom has moments that are so little and ordinary, and you have made each one of us more appreciative for little miracles.
and….I agree about your office. I can’t wait to see what you decide to do with it!

  9. pakosta says:

    hugs.

On Friday I went to the Beehive Bazaar and saw Sarah Jane’s illustrations for sale…She must be a local artist and it took me reading your blog from all the way across the world to realize it. What a small world. I love the images you chose!

  16. dani says:

    dear sheye,
all of your children resemble one another. i can definitely see ava in ivy.
but, (it may just be in pictures) i see so much of ava in luca!!! it’s as though she dwells within those endless eyes of his… totally kindred spirits the two seem to be.
    love and prayers,
    dani xx

As you can tell from me writing this at 4am – I’m in my office – oh to have a seperate place – one where i can work then come home and do the domestic goddess part (yeah as if that’ll ever happen) very very envious XXXXX

you know I suffer great hair envy. It’s the petty in me, I’m torn between appreciating your Beauty Full post and jealousy of the pig tails. we have yet to have enough hair for a tail, let alone two.
    xx

  24. Danielle says:

Do you think Mason will care if I let his hair grow just to satisfy mt need for more pigtails in my life?

Ivy’s crooked smile, shows she has a mischievous streak.

  25. Princess Abigail .... says:

Such beauty full pieces of joy… all of you. Princess Abigail has taken a shine to you … all of you. And the Bernard Bunch is hooked with her. Keep posting!

  26. Mya says:

Ivy is gorgeous… she definitely has Ava’s eyes and brow, but I wonder if I see Luca’s nose and a hint of Mason’s mouth in there too. But it’s definitely her face, and the way she uses it is so expressive, it’s adorable!

  27. Vanessa says:

“And I keep on thinkin’ ’bout you, sister golden hair surprise, And I just can’t live without you, Can’t you see it in my eyes”….My hubby was playing this song (Sister Golden Hair – America) on his guitar today and the words are so sad and heartfelt and they reminded me of golden haired Ava…..Vanessa x

  28. Vanessa and Kara says:

Farrrrr out Sheye ~ I know all of your children are from the same mold but that last shot of Ivy is soooooo like Luca…. gorgeous as always.
