Six quirks.

Tagtime again, thankyou Ms Carrie. Now it’s six things of quirkiness about me. Hmmm.

1. If I’m looking for a stapler I make the motion with my hand until I find it.

2. I always leave a smidge of my dinner, no matter how hungry I still am. Don’t know why. (Note, does not apply to dinners where ice-cream is the main ingredient).

3. If I’m feeling shy I’ll do my best to appear aloof. (Is that a quirk or just a brave admission?)

4. I cannot go to sleep with a mirror in my room, for many years when I had one I would turn it around before bed. (Wow, now I sound nutty. Or very unattractive.)

5. No matter how cold at night, I absolutely must have the fan on high speed..I just increase the blankets.

6. Being the all or nothing woman that I am, it fits that I would never, ever don a bathing suit in public yet I’ve been a model for a brazilian waxing course. Yes, multiple persons waxing at once. (Did I just admit that? I think I’m blushing.)I love the words hush, magnolia, honey and luxe. I won’t list the ones I loathe because I can’t bear to type them. (Okay well phlegm is one. Shudder.)

7.

Oops, did seven. It’s alarming when I thought I’d struggle and then I can’t stop.

Now I’m tagging -

Jenji.
Ms Jinky.
Queen Krysta.
Sarah Jane.
Kate
Susannah. Oh no wait. She don’t do that.

Lastly, the essential image. I couldn’t possibly do a post about quirkyness and not include Angie. Aint she purty?

Oooh lookey here I’m first to comment!

I DID do that HAH!, not cos I was tagged but cos I wanted to.

I’m with you on the fan thing, maybe it’s the growing up in a hot climate. I feel like the air is dirty if there is no breeze, like I am suffocating. The air must move.

on an odd side note my verification word is bufynsyoo, which I am enjoying saying right now, bufnsyoo, bufnsyoo, bufnsyoo

Ooh I better hurry up just in case someone comments before me

    OMG Sheye!
2 things (!) I too sleep with the fan on FULL BORE all year round! It’s just the blankets that varies!! and I have never been able to sleep with a mirror so that I can see myself if I am laying on the bed (is ok to be in the room, just as long as I can’t see it if I am in bed!). Something to do with feng shui? and reflecting energy when you are trying to sleep? dunno, just stuck with it!!!!
Now – get on Skype or ring me will you?!

    Look at those brows

……runs off to mirror with tweezers in hand hoping to recreate them* on my face

*not likely to happen ever with me wielding the tweezers!

OhmySheye (it’s really said as one word you know so I will start typing as such) So, I have to widdle down my list of quirks?… cuz I pretty much exemplify quirky..although that may be why we get along so well! :)
I’m right there with you AND Carrie on the mirrors and fans which is an odd little thing to have in common. Kay, I’ll start thinking…(secretly, so fun)

  7. Mya says:

Wow, I can really see Ivy in that photo of Angie. Your family are all SO stunning! x

  8. Melinda says:

Me too on the fan. Quilts are heavy for a reason…. so you can have the fan on high. I think it’s about the noise for me, and not the breeze.

A brazilian wax model!? I’M blushing.

I love Angie’s bangs. My hair is too curly for those gorgeous straight bangs, they just wisp up into frizzy nastiness. Now I have bang envy (did that sound wrong, or is it just me?).

  9. Sarah Jane says:

I love that you motion for the stapler. I am the same way! I am going to start thinking that these pics of your sister are YOU! How bout self portrait for SHeye day?? thanks for the tag:)

  10. Janelle says:

My roommate always had to have the fan on when she slept, too.

    sheye,
when you brought up mirrors in your bedroom i had to tell you this story. my husband, katherine, and i were on a house tour once. katherine was only about 4 years old. anyway the tour guide took us into the master suite. above the bed was literally a mattress sized mirror mounted to the ceiling. with a room full of people, katherine looked up, pointed, and said, “look, mama; they don’t have to get out of bed to brush their hair in the mornings!!!”
there was a moment of awkward silence…
    and then laughter…
    THANK GOD FOR LAUGHTER!!!
    love and hugs,
    dani xx

well I think stopping at six is a bit rich, I’m sure I could add a couple more… :P :P

I will try to think of some for me…it will be hard though, you know how completely normal I am (I can hear the snort you just did from here!) xo

    Hi Sheye

I can realte to usually leaving a little food on my plate. I suddenly feel like I’ve eaten enough and often can’t fit another mouthful in. What’s stranger is that my dad is exactly the same!!

  17. Lyall and Michelle says:

Sheye, I have not posted before but I am SO WITH YOU on the phlegm thing….I doing medical typing and I can tell you there is only one thing worse then the work ‘phlegm’ and that is when the doctor describes the phlegm using adjectives explaining colour, consistency and amount. YUK. I feel we are kindred spirits!!

  18. The Silly Wagon says:

NO one asked me, but I am tagging myself on my blog! That camera of yours worships your lovely sister. And I was a hair model but not in my hootanany region!! I would not be shy, I would simply be in agony from the pain…youch. Oh and I hate the word Buoy. Makes me teeth itch.

Re: #6-You would be right at home in the U.S!! We were at the beach a few weekends ago and saw someone just drop out of their clothes, showing the world what God gave ‘em! We couldn’t believe it!! We finally decided that they were “on Holiday” from Europe:) How Funny!!
