Oh my, those poor little boys, look at how gorgeous they all are!
Even screaming luca is so handsome, being able to capture THAT is why you photograph children!Amazing job- as always.

Evil, independent. You say tomato I say to-mah-to. And when has evil looked that good? Of course I speak with the wisdom of distance.
-
Still beautiful – your kids are so beautiful.
Sheye, have you heard the Cuppycake Song by Buddy Castle? I always think of your little Ava especially with her own cupcakes now.

Dear Sheye,
It looks like Miss Ivy is teaching her adorably brothers all about the terrible two’s. I remember when my first child hit that stage and I was shocked. And then came age three. oh my! I was noticing in your previous posts that you have beautiful wood floors in your first home. We are in the process of building a home so I notice these details. Would you share with me if they were plank or strip? They appear to be Oak with a deep cherry stain. I am becoming a little obsessive about my floors, but I want them to be just beautiful!
Thanks so much,
Chesnye

How adorable!!
I am really hooked by the way that you write, and the things that you say.
I’m only 17 years old, a senior in high school, and I feel so touched by your connection with your family, that I’ve been wondering how my children will be when I’m older.
You capture so much beauty and youth in your children, despite their stubbornness.
But doesn’t the stubbornness make the pictures more worth while, instead of just ‘point and click’?
I hope you don’t mind me hanging around for a while, You are a huge inspiration, as well as your children.
Much Peace and Love!!

Your outtakes are perfect. I am learning to accept that my life is basically a bunch of outtakes back to back. Put them together and you’ll see an accurate reflection of my family. :) I love your photography!

as always i so enjoy viewing your lovely photos. your children are adorable and that little ivy makes me want a girl to the extreme. i have two beautiful boys but i am hoping one day a little girl can make her way down to us. i wish you weren’t half way across the world or i’d love to use you. i’ve been to Australia twice now and if we ever go back a third time i’ll have to look you up.

Sheye, these are amazing, I love them all! Why do you photograph children??? the evidence is right there… you truly capture the innocence of children & you do it so beautifully that even your outtakes are amazing :) I love the look on Ivy’s face in the last one, It’s like you can read her mind… go on just try to get another one… not going to happen!! xxx

I love Amy’s comment that life is a series of out-takes, she sounds like a kindred spirit :) Sheye, as divine as your perfect images are, your out-takes are much more entertaining, especially with your hilarious backstory to go with them. You have always done exasperated mother humour so well! I’m in awe of Luca and Mason’s helpfulness – maybe that’s the way to photograph them in future, pretend it’s an Ivy shoot you need help demonstrating ;)
love

Oh they are adorable!!! How lovely a big brother is Mason?!?!? Evil is the way of the 2 year old, I’m convinced that’s the teenager they will be ::GULP::
Seriously they are lovely pictures :)

they are so beautiful.
thank you for what you wrote on my blog today. i am sure you know how comforting it is when you hear that people are thinking about you and acknowledging your loss. the days and weeks are so difficult.
one of my greatest fears is that people will forget about what this world has lost.
aaron and ava should be remembered.
so thank you ever so much.

You simply are amazing! I love to read your blog and your simple words of advice. Your photos are great and your children are so beautiful. I share your story often and try to remember words you have spoken. I especially love the bit about a normal day, and how not to take them for granted. Anyway, just know that you have inspired me and I appreciate it. It is a great service you are doing for others around the world. You simply are divine and I am thankful for that. Take Care!

Oh god, the TWO’S. Kitty’s 2 next month and she’s already becoming a nightmare. I just can’t believe the difference between boys and girls. Cooper was such a breeze as a toddler compared to my girl who is going through a faze where she will only wear flanelette pj’s, even if its 30 degree day!! We are going away tomorrow and I don’t know how I’m going to get her on an aeroplane in clothes.

hey Sheye! i’m not too sure if you’ll still get this comment, (this post was written in 2008 and all), but i happened to chance upon your blog, through Sarah’s blog, through Jessica’s blog. I have a habit of reading right from the beginning and it feels like I’ve just gained a entire family in just a single night, felt both the joy and the grieve. Your children are absolutely beautiful, God’s precious gifts. Signing off here for the night! Take care! Lynn

….and yet the photographs are simply STUNNING!!!!!
Honestly Sheye, when kara runs, hides or jumps my pics get deleted because she’s not in them…these pictures are exactly why you photograph children ~ you do it so well.
