Camera Wielding Mother Strikes Again

Yes I know it belongs with all things tasteless and tacky – photos of your offspring on the potty. BUT, we all have them.  AND, it’s such a special trip to the toilet, this one.  See it’s her first time.  After months of backing away emphatically repeating “no way”, this is a huge achievement.  And she proves that there really is no situation where she doesn’t look adorable, right?

Who knew it could be this much fun?
 And so what goes where?

Love the concentration here!

Of course I’m a bit thrilled at the notion of not having to change nappies, after 9 years of doing it, but I’m also nervous.  I can’t imagine no baby in the house.   Mum and I have agreed she can stay drinking out of bottles at least another twelve years but the nappy thing?  I’m not sure they’ll work so well under her skinny jeans.  Oh well, at least they should keep the boys at bay.
xx

I’ve just spent hours sorting through a few decades worth of photos and came across quite a few of my 3 brothers and I on the loo as youngsters.

It was quite cute actually, even though the thought did pop into my head “this is normal, right? Every parent would have these pictures…?!!”

Nice to see it’s a universal thing – though I must say, none of our pics are this tasteful. Gee wizz Sheye, you even make a toilet look lovely!! haha

And golly gosh, Ivy is even adorable in this situation as well!

Enjoy the transition Sheye…cherish each day, as I know you would be.

    Take care,
    Bel

    Sheye:

I love how you find beauty in many situations. That is certainly a gift. I read about your story a year ago and was reminded of it again recently. I hope you don’t mind, but I put a link on my blog to yours.

    Have a wonderful day!

A princess on her *throne*! :-D

Sigh, I wish I had her ability to look gorgeous doing absolutely anything. ANYTHING.

Rob is toying with the idea of telling Abby that boy bits are poisonous. I don’t think she’d buy it though. He may also be researching nunneries on the side.

more than ever…even on the loo…I want to eat her she’s so gorgeous. Twisted I know, but I know you understand. I’m just sitting here gazing at that first one especially…xxoo

    Sheye,
    Too gorgeous!
My Mum and my husband are both pushing me to get Kitty on the potty because they both say she’s ‘ready’. I on the other hand just can’t do it. It’s like saying good bye to my baby and I LOVE having babies.
I’ve been told I shouldn’t have anymore by my Ob ( severe pre eclampsia with both) so the thought of making Kitty do ‘big people things’ makes me so sad. She still likes a dummy too and although my Mum again, keeps telling me to take it off her, I just can’t. Let me have my baby just a little longer. I’ve no doubt she won’t want to start school with a dummy will she??

Absolutely priceless!!! & Ivy is adorable no matter what the situation… love the first image! Sheye you have such an amazing gift! This would be the one photo I don’t have of my kids, ( and they are way beyond potty training to even think about it) such a shame :) xx

Sheye, you’ve inspired me (not for the 1st time!) to get the camera out tomorrow at potty time! I’d never even though of it. My Ivy is right in the midst of potty training & doing so well, now is the time lol! I think our Ivy’s would love each other, they look so alike, not physically at all but they both have that ultra cheeky twinkle in the eye, it would almost be devilish if they weren’t so innocent & gorgeous. thanks so much for the inspiration & the joy, I love “watching” her grow up!

Thank you for posting these precious moments – have been trying to get Lachlan interested in the toilet for ages now and he always states in a cute voice “NO LIKE A TOILET”

I will be able to show him Ivy now and he may get interested.
