Into My Arms

I’m still surrounded by boxes. The man in a van will take them away tomorrow. I have sent a lot of furniture off to auction but had to pull a few things out last minute as the memories were just too hard to part with. Packing has been harder than expected. Every single thing that goes into a box is one less thing I can look at and remember.

So, not wanting to write as bleak as I feel today, I’ll just indulge in the music element of my post . Tracey sent me a beautiful CD for Ava’s birthday and it was included – I was a huge Nick fan back in the day so was thrilled to find him there. Thankyou, sweet girl. Love love love this song.

On any given day, I pull my camera out for a variety of reasons. To capture the happy moments, of course, but also to distract, to de-stress, to just escape my thoughts for five minutes. I have a million billion photos of Ivy and many of them are simply because I wanted to think about nothing but light for a brief moment in time. Here are this weeks moments of escape.

In this one, she’s just spotted some ants and wondered what on Earth they were.
Proofed some old images yesterday – my nephew Bass – the spunky little man that he is..
And here is Ivy and I a few months back, playing in Mason’s room..He took the photos! I know I look tired but I love that we look so happy.

The move isn’t meant to be easy sweets I am sure your doing your very best!

I “get” you when you talk about pulling the camera out for different reasons. Distract from other on goings is my main reason.

Ivy is growing too fast, so glad you have millions of pics of the wee one! Shes just stunning.

Macy is a GREAT photographer, just like his mummy! Clever little man!!

Ngaro actually loves pulling mine out and snapping a few herself! God love her!

Ivy looks like her own ‘Miss’ and so full of her own spunk and those hands look like they need some raspberries blown on them!

I too love that song and we played it at our wedding.

If only life could so easily be packed into a box and moved to a new place. Life just can’t be packed up like that can it?

So much is wrapped up in this move that words just won’t capture it. There is only forward, because we’ve tried going back and we know we can’t ever get there.

    Love always,
    Dxx

So lovely to see more pics of Ivy – adorable little doll she is. More importantly it was lovely to see you!!! Just love that you have Macy taking pics… we want to give Jack a little point and shoot for his birthday… Don’t know if he will have the flair that Macy has. Maybe one day together they could snap away, in between boys being boys.
Love to you hun, try to recharge as much as possible whilst you move. The big steps are never easy, as you know, but to an outsider, it looks as though you are treading carefully, and with thought, so I know deep down you will be fine
Love to you and all the family

I fell in love with “Into my arms” (and Nick) when i skipped work one day 10 years ago to go to Michael Hutchence’s funeral. I stood outside the church and wept as Nick played and sung to his mate.

    Am glad you love it

Hi Sheye, remember me, Toni, you used to buy lovely baby clothes from me on ebay? I’ve tried to email you a few times this year but they have always bounced. Your mail box was probably overflowing ( :
You have had such a hard journey to travel this year haven’t you? I can’t tell you how many tears I have shed for you. I think so much of you & your family & little Ava, remember that gorgeous Room Seven apron you bought for her to wear at a tea party? I think I remember reading in your blog that you never got around to doing it? We all have those intentions of doing lovely things with our children but often never make them a priority, there always seems to be something more important until it’s too late. I keep meaning to start keepsake books for my Finn & Ivy & still haven’t started because there never seems to be the time. Remember we had our “Ivys” around the the same time? i ca’t remember the space but my Ivy was Feb 23rd. She is so devine now, I’d love to email you a photo. I recently purchased (for my 40th) a canon 30D & am LOVING taking pics of my babies! Your work is such a great inspiration to me. I look forward one day to taking photos half as beautiful as your works of art.
I wish you great strength during your move, I am sure it is a momentous challenge to leave the place you spent your precious time with your firstborn daughter. I am sure you know that she is going to go with you wherever you go but that probably doesn’t make it any easier for you. Your gift of words & sharing to so many people have allowed us to wake up to the love we have for our children & to remember to express it & make each moment count. You have suffered so but I know you will receive so much in your life in return for what you have given. Well done, be proud or yourself & all of your glorious children, all 4 of them. much love & good wishes, Toni

good luck with the rest of your move.
    strength to you and yours.
