All sweetness and light. Almost.

Ava was never one to do anything by halves. She was not just a dancer. She proclaimed herself to be a “dance teacher”. No ordinary princess..She preferred the title of “Super Princess”, if you please. We say, a hundred times a day, how amazing and beautiful and clever and special she was – more than every other amazing, beautiful, clever, special child out there, of course -because that’s what parents are supposed to do, right? So, according to us, if there was a sweetness scale, she’d have fallen off the top of it but when I saw this today, I was reminded of her bossy side. Sometimes Crayton would tease her and say in a Deep South USA accent “Missy Ava comin’ up the drive and she lookin’ mighttttty mean”!!!
(And then she would whip around to me, mouth open and frown plasted like she’d just been soooo incredibly insulted and whine “MUUUUUM.”!!!)

Gotta love a girl who recognises her own greatness! LOL Sheye, I love your images, as everyone agrees, they are breathtaking. But I also and equally love your stories – I love that I feel like I’m still getting to know Ava better – thank you for that. :)

And btw, there is nothing better than a feisty girl! Life would be nauseatingly saccharine otherwise – I was telling a disbelieving relative just the other day that my sweet as sugar Kate has a small but impressive streak of bitch in her! PMSL Must remember to try out a Southern accent on her – would infuriate her! lol

Even when she is looking “Mighty mean” she still seems to look so gorgeous!

I love your stories about your beautiful Ava, and I agree with Sue. It makes us (the ones who werent lucky enough to know her personally) feel like we do know her afterall. If that makes sense.

I love that face!!! I know that facial expression, I have seen it before. just so precious. I would have loved to have been privy to the Deep South talk. Makes me cranky too when I get teased.

It’s a lovely photo, it’s so nice to know you have all the gamut of emotions and facial expressions caught on film, those are the ways we get to know her but importantly remind you of the whole Ava.

It’s the yin and yang-my favourite new expression- it’s the balance.

That story about Craytes southern impression reminded me of my mock Indian accent, when she was a baby “Ava Rrrrosmeyer, who’s your Daddy?” What a beautiful photo of the lady! I am imagining her opening the bag, seeing the black fabric of that beautiful dress you bought for her… “oh no.. thats not mine….”

  8. Melinda says:

I can pull this on my kids…. only I don’t have to fake the accent, since I am FROM the Deep South, USA. Ah dehclayah, I bet that Ava could do a wonderful Scarlett O’Hara!
