Beauty Full.

Some older photos of Ava – how does one look so beautiful holding a bag of sultanas over their head? She loved this dress and wore it long after it was too short. So many days I’d get Ava dressed (or Ava would get Ava dressed) and then bring her out to her Daddy and say “Look at your daughter” and he’d always go “Awww, isn’t she a beauty?”. Of course I know all the stuff about teaching them that it’s what inside that matters most and yes, yes, we told her she was clever and kind too but how could we not just marvel at her beauty? She was just, well, Beauty Full.
Speaking of a little bit gorgeous, here is Missy Ivy at Grandads this week. Sitting in that chair with her hair like that, I feel like she should be named “Clara” or something equally British and proper!!

Ivy looks like she came straight from a magazine in the 50’s!! LOVE IT!!!

As for the Beauty Full one…. what I would give to walk a day on this earth with a bag of sultanas over my head & look like that!!!!

One thing no one could ever deny – you & Crayton do breed ever so well ;o) !! Must be those fine studlines ;oP

I really love the expression on Ivy’s face in the third to last picture. So cute!! She’s gorgeous and so is Ava. Cant say that enough!

I’m so glad you confirmed what was on Ava’s head. I stared at that photo for ages thinking, what the hell is that, is that some kid of dodgy brown crown? Her expression is one of majesty that would befit a crown. And I KNOW there could not possibly be a brown crown in the grand house of all things Pretty and Pink.
Ivy is at that crossroads baby/little girl stage. You can so see it in the photos where on the chair she looks like such a big girl and in the last shot laughing, she looks like a baby girl. All your kids have the most divine espresso chocolate eyes, they could be an ad for Cadbury.

Wow!! What gorgeous photos, they are both stunning girls.
I agree, you both breed amazing looking children :-)

    Sheye

I just wanted to tell you this…

My hubby got a new car today and we showed it to my five year old daughter, who sat in the front seat and such to check it out. She said something about how fun it would be to play in daddy’s car. He and I both looked at each other and said almost at the same time, “You NEVER play in a car…ever.” We then reminded of your dear Ava (I had told her the story as a warning). She remembered her and said she understood. But just to make sure we told her if she ever did disobey us and get in the car and not be able to get out for some reason (we went over how to open locks and such on both our cars) that she should press on the horn nonstop to get help.

I just wanted you to know that your tragedy has made this danger in the forefront of many parent’s minds, especially those of us in very hot climates such as the Southern US.

I just wanted you to know your little girl was in my mind today and I thank her for helping me keep my young one safe. I think she knows that she’s helping kids all the time. Thanks little Ava!

There is something about Ava in every one of her photos – like she is right there, like you could touch her in the photo, feel her smooth brown skin, kiss her pink lips – perhaps it is the way you photographed her, or maybe it’s just her – add that to the many special things about Ava. Every new photo I see of Ava makes me hold my breath.
And as for Poppet, she is a cheeky monkey, isn’t she? Look out, she has sass written all over her. xx

    Found your blog from ILP.
I read it often and sadly and happily it makes me a better mother. I often have Ava’s face go through my mind and your words and I find myself truly enjoying the moments of life better because of it.

Thank you for sharing little pieces of all of this with us.

That first picture of Ava is stunning. The one of her and Ivy together makes my catch my breath and want to cry at the same time. They looked so much alike and from the picture there seems to be so much love.

Ivy looks so much like Ava. The new pictures you post of her amaze me…they both have the most perfect little features.

Both your daughters are just stunning.. I have always looked at your pictures of Ava and thought WOW.. she really is a gorgeous little one.. and Ivy too.. those eyes.. I too espically love the one of the two girls together it will be a wonderful image for Ivy to have forever..

  17. Melinda says:

I know that Ivy will always treasure the pictures you have of her and Ava together. My heart aches that she won’t have Ava physically, but I know that Ava will always be a part of her. That kind of love never goes away. Ava was beauty full… she always will be.
